The Practitioner Group brings together a range of public sector, non-profit and commercial organisations actively developing or operating heat networks in Scotland.
The Practitioner Group is part of the ongoing work to support development of heat networks in Scotland by the Heat Network Partnership.
We have convened the Practitioner Group since 2014, and there are currently over 200 practitioners invited to workshops events.
In 2017 we held convened two public consultation events for the Scottish Government to discuss the potential scenarios in the Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategies and Regulation of District Heating consultation. The events were held by the Scottish Government in association with the Practitioner Group. In this blog post we offer our reflections on those events. It was one blog in a series published by Energy & Society at the University of Edinburgh during the Scottish Energy Strategy consultation period.
Between 2014 and 2016 we held a series of workshops on district heating regulation; ‘next steps’ for district heating; coordination and development of district heating which was held in partnership with the Stratego project and with contributions from Germany and Denmark; as well as co-hosting the ADE 2015 District Heating Scotland Conference.
